Local MB Parts counter

Buick Dealer who also sells BMWs out of the same building...
So you've got at Best a 33 1/3% chance of getting the correct part.
BUT,the attitude that comes prior to parts aquisition makes it "Not Worth It".
(This is with a picture in hand/or the old part AND the correct MB Part number)
[AND the parts prices are so high,Most times you'd save money Driving the
150 miles to Jacksonville and getting them at Brumos]

All the Horror stories you've ever heard (Or can imagine) are replicated at this
franchise continually , day after day.
I gave up on them ,literally, over 20 years ago.

BUT, we do have possibly the best Independent shop.
'Mercedes Shop Foreman got tired of all the Screaming Customers at the
Stealership and went in partners with another wrench turner...

In fact I know at least two other Independents here in town who do much
better work than the Stealership.

The Portland dealer is quite nice. They have a fruit basket and fridge of refreshments you can help your self to. I have to visit them tomorrow and drop a chunk of change.

Retail parts counter is real nice, but I never shop there. I'm always in the armpit side (around back or another building) for wholesale pricing

Angry Beverly Hills Ltd, nein danke.

The Parts Department at Beverly Hills Ltd. Mercedes Benz is HUGE!!! Its been remodeled completely from what and where it was before.

Now it is like a store boutique, with clothes and accessories and locked glass cabinets that are unattended, except for a free expresso bar that is.

But If you actually WANT to buy a part, you have to walk out a door across a parking lot, and then go into a small spartan area, with just a counter to stand behind, and get the attention of a single sullen individual who did not know where anything was and was visibly peeved that you even deigned to darken his doorstep.

If the part was only on display in the parts showroom you had to make a second trip all the way back there with the person, and then afterwards back again to the counter area across the parking lot. Absurd.

Over a month later I am STILL waiting for his call on an order for an out of stock item. Luckily I am NOT holding my breath for it.

I will stick with Fastlane, Germanstar, and the MB classic center thank you very much

Or even Mercedes Benz of Encino on Ventura Blvd (formerly known as the famous AutoSteigler) which has great easy access, and the parts people are friendly, accomodating and very helpful

Formica. Fairly nice but sparse. There is a seating area which I have never explored. The main guy is courteous and gives me the mbusa club discount and can get things that sometimes amaze me.

The car sales men are mostly dips though.

HA, reminds me of an old B.C. comic I once read.

Caveman was riding the rock down the street, came upon a sign that read "DIP IN THE ROAD" so he slowed his pace... looking for the dip. Turned out it was a hobo/beatnik looking cat sitting there. LOL

First time I walked into the dealer, I asked where the parts counter was. The lady said: "It's over there, in the boutique...". I walked into the "boutique" and it was like a college memorabilia store for MB university. Small room about 18 x 10 with lots of soft goods. I asked the lady at the counter if this was where I bought parts and she said that it was...

Never would have known...

I havn't been to MB of Fairfield in 4 years because I won't deal with them, so I don't know what their new place is like. Their old parts counter was like the one at the local Ford dealer.

The dealer I use MB of North Haven has a very nice waiting area and building.

The nearest parts counter is 2 hours away and polluted with assheads who treat me like a subhuman for driving a vehicle from the 1980's.

So, my parts counter looks like Phil's desk.

ive been to greenwich mb a bunch of times and ive seen everything from an slr mclaren to w116's to a veyron across the street. the parts desk is huge but you have to go in through the back at the drop off desk, to sit with the guy and look through the computer epc or whatever its called. its not that big but its easily got the highest price stuff around.

U walk to a empty counter hit a button buzz and repeat about 3 times then some little guy who is total dork has no idea how to look up parts "manually" sad times

there's 3 in town, the one I frequent most(better prices) is kinda sparse=formica, free coffee- usually, but it may be old.

Best part- one of the countermen was a service tech for years, he know's the 123's pretty well.

the other two are pretty plush. coffee, pastries, lounge. but they dont give me deals. and they usually really aren't overly polite.

Whenever I need a part I'm usually extremely greasy. So i pull up to the dealer, park my greasy sd in the entrance, order my part and leave knowing I have the best Mercedes there

Been there, done that.

Except, I was greasy, and driving the G-Wagon...... Sales men came out to see me, but were disappointed when I needed the parts counter.

The Roseville/Rocklin area knows my dad, as his car was in 6 times to fix a problem that they couldnt fix.... They see my dad coming, and the manager takes care of him.
