Ordered and received a MeanGreen starter for my '82 240D 4Sp. It came without a nose cone, which the Bosch starters have. Am I supposed to take off the nose cone from the old unit and put it on the new starter?

Or did they send me the wrong thing? I'd like to know where we're going before I take the old (but still operating poorly) starter out of the car.
