Glow plug wire spins with cap
I'm trying to take the remaining glow plug cap off, but when I try to undo the nut, the whole wire comes around with it, putting the wire at a sharp angle. This can't be good for it.
I've loosened the nut up as much as I can, but can't get the wire, even by force where I can get my hand in there, or with pliers, to remain still while I undo the nut. They're stuck together. I've put a bit of wd-40 on it to try to help loosen it up (don't have any liquid wrench around), but it still spins with the nut. Any suggestions? I don't want to mess up the glow plug wiring harness. Thanks, jeff 1991 300d, 128k |

Can you pry the tabs that hold the nut on the connector?

Is there room to cut the terminal off the glow plug?

I had the same issue and used long needle nose pliers to hold the connector and used a box wrench (before I had the gear type). It worked for me.

I mean cut the terminal off the glow plug, deal with getting the nut off the terminal with a little more room. It might come down to attaching a new terminal to the wire if the nut is absolutely fused to the terminal. The 603.96 uses the same terminals as the 617.95 so they're in every wrecking yard. Not sure about 602 terminals.

Cut the glow plug
I'm tempted to cut the glow plug head off, but don't have the tools here at this home to do it.
WHat I'm tyring to do now, is to unfold the crimping that holds the washer on. jeff |

Don't cut anything.
Hold the wire head with one hand and turn the wrench with the other. Work smart, not hard. |

Hold the wire in place with needle nose pliers, use a open end wrench and loosen it. Same thing happened to me
