Where to buy the New 617 engines in Cali?
I remember reading of one or two places in cali that sell new (or rebuilt) 617's with a 50k+/- warranty? i looked all over the forum and cant seem to find the right terms to locate the threads.
I know adsitco sells rebuilds, but i have heard to many cons, and would like to steer away from them.

Search for Metric Motors. I think they are the ones and they are ariound $5-6,000.00.

Just for the hell of it call the dealer and get a price. In 2002 I purchased a re-manufactured a total engine (long block + more) for my 240D 1977, these motors are assembled in Denmark and are marketed by MB all over the world, the cost was $3600 for the engine +core of about $500.
This was before the GOP destroyed the US dollar value. Vahe 240D 77 350K

when I was checking around for an engine last year, I thought I could get a crate engine from the dealer. NLA. this was for the 617.952.
thats when I started looking around at my other options. about the same time there were a couple 240D crate engines on e-bay. one went for $1800.00. these were long blocks. Charlie

The dealer does not offer any 617 or 616 engines anymore, go to Metric Motors. Join Mercedes Benz Club of America first,you get a discount with Metric Motors if you are a MBCA member It's worth it.
