If I'm not mistaken MB continued to put the 615 in their trucks after they stopped putting them in cars for the US. So it still might be a 615 if it's not a 352.
Have you tried running the VIN on the Russian VIN site?

I had a W123 615, it was a 77 build date. Russian site doesn't know what it is, I have put in a request with classic parts.

this add shows an 83 and discusses the benefits of using the 2,4 from the w123, also says its a 5 speed.....

Yep, sure is shaped like a bread box. Nice find, but if you think an automatic 240D is slow, you're going to love this machine, you'll always feel like you're driving uphill with a nice gusty head wind....LOL

Nice find, if you have questions on the "rv" part of it, let me
know.......Thats what I do for a living, And no, it is not 90%
carpentry.....it is 95% gas (propane), plumbing, and electrical. Very rarely
do I have to mess with carpentry

you're a brave soul. I would have left with whatever refund I could have talked them into. certainly doesnt reflect the pictures from the auction

catmandoo62 01-06-2009 11:37 PM

definately needs a diesel generator.

katja 01-07-2009 12:21 AM

Looks like the drivetrain & wiring may be a fun project. The mold, rust & interior work may be less so. You might have some, um, "tenants" to evict...

So this is an OM314? Based on the nameplate, OM314/352 - IIRC the OM352 is the 6 cylinder DI diesel used in Unimogs. So this may be the 4-cylinder version of the same? With the direct injection diesel & a dually - you got yourself a Mercedes truck chassis! I seem to remember seeing similar style vehicles in Germany that would be converted into delivery vans, ambulances, and flatbed trucks.
