P0403 code What wrong 96 E300D
I went to start the engine on my 96 E300D. Once the engine started, I got a check engine light. I then used my scan tool to check. It came out a P0403 code + a statement reads: "EGR Flow ckt malfunction".
What could be wrong? Could the EGR flap has lot of build up? I just clean the whole Intake manifold, EGR flap.. 3000 miles ago this past summer. BTW. It was 38 degree F when I started the engine. THX |

For the benefit of the community, I've solved the problem.
Took the EGR valve, mixing chamber and the corrugated pipe apart. I scaped all the soot out, cleaned them with injector cleaner. Put them back, started the engine. The P0403 code still came back. I then used my Actron OBD II scanner to ERASE the code. It is gone. Have not seen it back. Note. I did scrape and cleaned the electrical connection to the EGR valve as suggested. No help. Hope someone can benefit from my experience. |
