cracked mb tex

Just how cold was it? MB Tex is pretty supple in low temps unlike Corinthian LEather- usually 40 below is dicey for seats--so I'm curious because I'll stay out of my car when its cold. It was zero here yesterday and car started fine and "sat in" fine when I yard drove it.

It was -23f(-31c) In Calgary for a few days when this happened.

On a side note the car is running again and I found out I have a block heater just didn't have a cord so now it is wired inline with my battery tender yay!

I've never heard of an o-ring shrinking due to extreme cold, but I understand it. I bet it cracked and split open. serious bummer!
in those temps you better be plugging in your car. heck, I'd have a battery charger on it and plug in the block heater AND have it in the garage!!!
I found the source of the rundown was a combination of the interior light left on, and my "autosensing" powered subwoofer must have had a stuck relay or something because it wasn't shutting off. I guess the batter tender was barely making up for it every night and the interior lights just threw it off? Anyways now the sub is wired with a "remote trigger" that actually shuts it off when the car is off. I am so cold from doing all these repairs outside. Time to sell the benz for a hot tub
