I am putting my answer here because there is a video in the signature of a member in the other thread and it pretty much blocks me from getting to the latest answers..

I got spare keys made here in the Central Texas area by a mobile keysmith..that met me with her van in the HEB parking lot... and made a bunch of spare keys for honda,lincoln,gate,house... AND my 240d....
The cost of the 240 keys was not much more , if any, than the others... I had read about these $20 plus dollar keys at dealers ....
She also said she could make them with just the right numbers I believe...
but I never trust that unless it is an emergency...
I will find her name and number and post it...
Or , I might agree to a bunch of people sending their keys to me and me getting her to make the copies...
