This is very odd. It still doesn't work on 2 different laptops. I deleted cookies and history, etc..... Still no go.
When I pull up the page to enter the vin # there is the work "no" kind of middle right of the page. Anybody else get that.....

Can somebody run these?

it is a problem with their database.

i tried my W123 vin and failed. wdb123130...

and my 190D worked great. WDBDB28...

so it has to be an issue with their database linking.

Russian Site

I can translate the russian, however, it appears that someone else has . . . scroll back. Further, there are many words that are unknown to me and considered technical . . . but if someone really needs help, lemme know . . .

I tried running them too and got the errors.

I even tried changing to WDBAB instead or your WDBEB.

I've never seen WDBEB, what are these VINs from?

The "E" is for 124. A is 123. C is 126. I think D is 201 but I might be wrong.

Why on earth is anyone in the US even using that site? It makes absolutely no sense to me, as the StarTek EPC itself, the real deal, is free.

LOL i guess it took a thread like this to find a better site than the russian site. i never bothered to find a different site, since the russian one worked great. Old habits die hard, i guess.

I thought that was just an electronic parts catalog. They do VIN decoding too?

yup it shows you all the factory equipment that came with your car, the only benefit of the russian site is that its quicker and doesnt require as many mouse clicks, passwords, usernames etc.

Because maybe the programmers who wrote it used Java, but still insisted on making calls into Windows so that it won't work under Linux?

"Could not initialize class com.hp.tis.ewo.common.win32.TerminalServer"

Keep an XP machine with the proper version of Java for this task. EPC is updated by M-B and will always be current. I highly doubt that this is the case for the Russian site.

I am not terribly worried about viruses from that Russian site as we would probably be aware, but perhaps there is reason to worry. Does anyone know who runs this site and why?
