how to adjust turbo boost to 12-13 psi
 

i know that you need that Pyro, boost gauge, but i am just wanting to know, what part do i have to tinker in order to get higher boost, and i also if i do that i have to increase the fuel intake too....

Up to the factory 12psi no fuel adjustments are needed, the ALDA will do it automatically.

The part about "You will have to adjust your ALDA to get power" is incorrect.

And what's the seat of the pants feel of this boost controller?

My wagon boosts to 18 psi. I was like this when I got it...actually, when I got it the wastegate hose had a slit in it and it pegged the boost gauge at 20 (I didn't know this until I put in the gauge). Now with a good hose it goes to 18. So to get it back down to 15 or whatever a same stock max is, I don't suppose there's any way around me adjusting the spring at the wastegate valve is there?

When I installed the boost controller and adjusted the boost there was little or no noticeable difference in power. I don't remember how far CCW I turned the screw on the ALDA but it made a difference in power then as more fuel was added.

forced,i have seen the pictures you have on the injection pump for the 617 engine and they are great,on the pump for the 603, would the proceedure be the same for getting the most hp from max fuel input?
i did get the alcohol/water injection system in and am tinkering with it,ran -20deg washer fluid with no noticable difference on a 3.5 liter 603 that i had rebuilt, determined that the -20 solution has only about 20% alcohol so yesterday i bought 5 gal alcohol racing fuel and today am going to go with 50% alcohol and 50% distilled water.

The prcedure for the M pump is identical, you also have far more options for real upgrades.

RE MBC, the biggest improvement they provide other than higher boost is preventing the wastegate flap from bleeding as it reaches max boost. On my car it was quite noticeable.

win, i ordered the manual hallman pro rx kit for the stock turbo control,just for a try before considering the upgrade to the vtr,do you think the boost controller will keep the waste gate from robbing boost air flow?

Any time you're regulating something mechanically (as in the stock wastegate and stock rpm/governor) there is a "throttling zone" where the mechanical system needs a range in which to begin operation to fully-actuated (think of a thermostat that begins to open at 165F so that it is fully opened at 182F).

What psi is considered danger zone for the turbo...

Not really the pressure it's the temperature..

EGT is a consideration aswell but overspooling it is equally bad or worse! And there is going to be a max sweet spot in the turbos compressor efficiancy map.
EX//: My D-max's stock turbo boost is like 24psi but its max boost sweet spot is about 32psi...its capable of more psi but its out of its efficiancy range so beyond 32 is just beating up the air geting it hot so the boost increase is neglable. And much more is living on borrowed time, to hard on it, = boom:eek:

no real need to go over 12-14 psi without adding fuel. but then you'll want more of a turbo.
