New thoughts- diesel related-

Today I got my issue of The Star and renewed for two more years because I like the magazine. But then I had a thought, I want a nice car. Well I have one.. it just needs paint and some better wheels( something like 15" bundts to keep the look)

I think I might use some of my delorean money and put it into the car to fix the AC and cruise, paint it up, rebuild the suspension, find some wheels, and fix the leaks. I want to be able to show my car off at car shows, not park it with the rest of the losers.

the rest of my moola.. I'm looking at those E*Trade savings accounts since wachovia sucks

You were selling the Delorean for 6k, right?

...and you think you'll have money left over after all that?

Even if you did all the prep work yourself, what would you drive in the interim? The before and after on my car was pretty amazing; new paint is very satifying...

The practical thing would be to find another nice 300D, but if you're attached like me, its completely understandible to hold on to this one.

nah I'm parting the thing out.. I'll make more than , hopefully, more than $5k when done. I've already broken even and thats with selling maybe.. 6 items.

I wouldn't mind driving the car in a primer state. I am looking for new front windshield molding to replace the original on mine since its all milky.

I really like my 300D. its my first car and I want to keep it until the day I die. It only needs some work. Paint and some new interior wood would really make a difference.

I've got friends that own shops and I know people so I can get stuff done for a good price and have a top notch job. My indy told me to bring the car in next week so we can diagnose all the leaks and fix them. I usually go in when its his slow time and I work on the car with him for a good rate.

thats my plan too, I will get everything running good, then I nice paint job. if you think about a new car payment you wont have, it is still economical to spend a chunk on paint for a car you plan to keep for many years. I want mine to look like a 2 door version of this car when I am done.

Me too, kinda like this Sunday

What is leaking Joe. I found out my oil leak is from the oil return line from the head to the oil pan, I always thought it was the rear seal. Althought I don't 617's have this line.

Pierre thinks is the oil filter housing gasket. I'm really not sure. Plus the transmission leaves a small spot and the petcock valve on the radiator needs to be replaced.

that and I need to adjust my transmissions vacuum modulator. it makes a nice clunk on the downshift

Joe buy my car, you have wanted an SDL for awhile, I'll make you a deal. Sixto gets first crack at it though.

Use the money from Back to the Future car's sale to paint it and you really will be The Don.

I'm tempted to get some funnel spokes but I need vogtlands for that. oh wait I sold mine... laaameeee.

Paint and get those leaks knocked out and I'll have a car I can show off. I really want to enter it in the celebration concours in the street class.

Hatty, your car needs a transmission, plus I kinda like the w123..

what what what I must know. I need window switches for the front console, a better hazard switch, all the wood for the interior, black sun visor clips, I want a passenger side mirror again. the glass on mine is shot, reason for the block off plate.

New paint just means that there's 3k on the car that someone can ruin with a key. Its not worth it unless its a car protected from the losers of society inside a nice concrete garage.
