IP removal & installation
My IP was removed and replaced (not sure why) by the previous and "his friend" who thought they knew how to install it(I have both pumps). They never got it started afterwards. I haven't even tried, not until I check everything. Is there a specific location, as far as the gears lining up, with marks or something? I was also wondering if the RIV timing tool would work on my 78 300D 5 cyl. ? If not I guess I would just go with the drip method. Thanks.

The general idea is.. set cam and crank on their marks then with the engine at the 24 degree mark (on the compression stroke) install the IP which is set on its marks. Then you can time it but it should be close enough to start.
