Vacuum problem
I just got this car a few days ago. Nice car. It does however have a few minor problems.
It has this "whistle" noise on the drivers side in the engine bay. I'm pretty sure it is vacuum related. I'm just trying to find some help on isolating the noise and fixing any leaks. I spent most of today working on the car, taking things apart and inspecting things. After reading several different vacuum diagrams I have found that this is in fact a California car. This adds quite a few more vacuum lines to the equation. There are 2 vacuum lines that are open to the interior of the car. The large filtered line pulls quite a bit of vacuum. Not sure how much (I'm buying a gauge and mighty vac tomorrow). Any other help in isolating the leak is greatly appreciated. It appears the Calif. model has an extra switch over valve and a vacuum transducer along with an additional vent line. The below schematic matches what is under the hood perfectly. It is all there. I just need to isolate the problem. Here is the diagram for the car: ![]() |
