A 1980 300CD founds its way into Bob's yard today. A gentlemen drove up to his storefront and sold it to him. Of course, knowing the crack head I am for W123s, Bob sent me a text within the hour. I arrived arrived that afternoon.

He asking well within cheap wagon territory, so we'll see how low he can go. It runs really nice and I will probably drive it tomorrow. Bob drove it and said it runs great, so we'll see.

Its not the best timing financially for me right now, but I was hoping to find a good paint project, since Norm's body work went so well. I strangely enjoy body work more than mechanical work.

All the electrical bits I tested worked fine; all four windows, sunroof, gauges, lights. The only exception is very obvious in a picture posted below, and the glow plug light flashes at you rhythmically.

The exterior is baked. plates have surrounds from a Mercedes dealer in Georgia. I could only find one rust spot on the rear fender. Its quarter sized, right where rocks from the rear wheel get kicked up. The interior is only moderately baked, but just plain NASTY. The pictures do it justice pretty well. Even though the color is Orient Red Exterior with light beige interior, it had a blue dash pad. Since I needed one for the Defiant, my last junkyard purchase, Bob gave it to me. The bundts were refinished at some point, and look very nice.
