What is SUPPOSED to be there? air cleaner bracket
I was investigating my troubling oil leak today...I think I found it. On the back (toward the cabin) of the air cleaner housing, on the bottom, is the oil drain hose thinga-ma-bob. Totally soaked in oil. I've been subscribing to threads all afternoon relating to this fix...
dmorrison's write up: 617 engine, replacing the oil separator check valve in the upper oil pan. bodyart27's write up: Tips & Pics - 617Turbo oil drain, check valve, oil pump pickup boot/strainer, sealing However, back to the air cleaner. There are three holes inside the housing...the one near the back, that what seemingly tighten down the housing against that hard hose (with rubber gasket) and keep oil from leaking...I have no bracket to tighten to. There's nothing - it seems like there should be a metal bracket, just like the one directly over the turbo, that would be in place to hold the air cleaner down tight. So, what is it supposed to look like under the air cleaner? This thing?
