It is an amazing difference Thanks so much for your help. When you come to next Spring's NJ/CT/NY/PA/OH Diesel meet, the coffee and bagel's are on me. Thanks JCD |

so you can put the 2x4 on the actual OIL PAN to lift the engine out ?

Yes. Make sure it it is at least as wide as the oil pan.

Ohmigosh, you just resurrected a three year old thread.... But to answer your question, YES, put the block of wood directly on the oil pan, with your floor jack under it, and lift away.
