Since the 60x VCV vent fitting elbow is NLA and the dealer replacement is a straight fitting, I checked a number of auto parts stores for a replacement.
I found this little item Dorman VACU-TITE! 47411 9/64" x 5/32" / 3,57 mm x 3,96 mm soft vacuum connector. The end that goes into the VCV is a little more than 8 mm where the original fitting is a shade under 7 mm. It took some poking with a small screwdriver to get it in place but it's on and difficult to tell from original. The problem I have with it is I can't push the vent line as far into the elbow as I'd like, but it holds. $2.29 at O'Reilly? It was $1.49 at Pep Boys. Mine has been broken and the vacuum line as been dangling for a while. Are there any ill affects of this not being plugged in? Last I checked there was not.

It's there to keep soot from getting in the vacuum system and clogging things.
