My new cheap wagon needs a name...

1982 300TD with 227k: Silver-Blue with black (yes black) interior.

I bought it from the second owner, who has had the car since 1991. Complete service records since brand new until the book ran out of pages. Still remained dealer serviced through all the years, and has had big things done to it you would expect a dealer to do. Just from what I can remember off the top of my head:

Complete Valve job with new timing chain
New Turbo
New CCU
New Drivers Seat
New grill and headlight doors (he thought it was looking too tired)

More to add to the list, but that's all I can think of right now. I'm kind of making a hurried post since I'm due in class at 7:00. Nothing is needed mechanically, since he fixed it all as things popped up.

It is the quietest engine I have ever heard. He had the valves adjusted, new glow plugs installed, and brake pads all the way around last fall.

Though the paint is tired, and a bit of rust in the rear hatch and rear quarters, it is the perfect painter project for me.

An unplanned purchase, but I couldn't with sound mind pass this one up.

My CWC submission:

I'm giddy... The car drives amazing, and needs nothing mechanicalyl that I could find. (knock on wood)

Are you going to put some fake wood trim on the sides to console your self for not buying a Jeep?

I was going to start working on a nick name, but I must admit, that one is pretty good. Besides, based upon what we discussed when you called this afternoon, I would have probably worked in some kind of death theme!
I'm not proud of it........

Cheap wagon club cutoff point is a grand, so you know it is a grand or under. That is really all we are entitled to know about CWC members......

I can't wait to see your vin decoding. That color looks very close to what Smash's color started out as, although that may be the bluer color that Derrick has......

Another great find. I love quiet puring 617's, that is just a great sound. Are you going to keep it? If not, at this rate you going to have to get a dealer's license!
