123 Vacuum lock actuator replacement?
![]() I must be missing something. I have diagnosed a leaking rear door vacuum actuator on my 1983 300D. I want to replace the whole actuator (black bottom part, and clear top part, as I have seen them sold). I simply can't figure out how to get the old one off the threaded shaft. I tried unscrewing it, but it never backs off. Please help, it's one of those things that once I'm told I'm sure it will seem like a stupid question. Thanks, Mike |

I think the shaft just pulls out with a little bit of force. The "threads" are just ridges to create some friction.

There are two types of connectors on the rods. A clear one and a black on. The clear on snaps apart so you can get the rod out. The black one has an outer sleeve that snaps downward to let the rod out.
