ELR not working, 87 300D

Hey Guys,

So I have recently started having a somewhat shaky idle..smooth, but pretty lopey throughout the whole car. After thinking about it a while, I decided to check on my ELR because I remembered how much worse the idle got when I had it disconnected a while back to up my idle rpm.
Anyway, it seems the system is not working- when I take the two-prong connector off the IP, nothing changes. No effect with the ELR wheel either.

I did a pretty thorough electrical spray cleaning, but still nothing. It seems to be the worst when the engine is warm. It really isn't that bad, but I like to be on top of things, so...

Has anyone else dealt with this? Any quick fixes? I have heard of people saying that it can go bad, but never heard of anyone dealing with it. I might consider trying to buy a new wire connector to the IP since mine is as stiff as a board from being old. I took a glance at the wiring diagram in the FSM, but it looks like a mess and I wouldn't know where to even start past the IP, selector knob, and OVP (which is somewhat new, and the fuse is fine)
