IH 3L diesel into a Toyota FJ60

http://www.expeditionportal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=19343

Thought people here might be interested in this conversion. The costs are staggering but the result seems pretty good.

For 30K you can just buy an om606 with all the Finnish magics, have it shipped to wherever you're.

That's a ridiculous amount of money. What if that car is totaled, how much will you get from insurance?

Heck, an om603 with maxed IP can match it's power. Throw in a VNT and you're good to go.

Yeah,that's Effing Crazy

You can buy a Brand New Toyota v-8 turbodiesel engine for a lot less and
(Once you get it here) drop it into the FJ60.

I think that is a great project and instalation the guy had done. I like any type of Diesel conversion. If you can dream it and have the money, go for it.

TLC does 50K - 100K restorations on Landcruisers so I'm not surprised that they charge 30K for an engine swap. Chevy small block gassers in Landcruisers are pretty common and a much more affordable diesel is to find a 2H out of a Canadian spec rust bucket.
