^That's exactly what Norm's passenger lock does as well. Only the drivers lock works, and the hatch lock as well but that doesn't unlock all of the doors.

You mean you swapped the passenger lock to the driver's side and it still didn't unlock all the doors?
Sounds like the master vacuum switch is disconnected somehow in the door from the mechanical lock, if you can still lock all the doors with the manual push down lever.

Or that the passenger door doesn't open all the doors with the key? I don't believe it's supposed to; it has a standard actuator, only the driver's door has the master vacuum switch:

Oh geez, I was completely misreading your first post. I thought you meant the drivers door lock mechanism in the door was jammed (meaning it couldn't be locked/unlocked at all, even pushing the knob).

So the keyhole in the drivers door is jammed. Hmm...that might require some disassembly

You;ll have to look where the lock cylinder connects to the door locking mechanism inside the door. It back of the cylinder most likely has a tab on the end that is supposed to push/pull a rod. It may have come disconnected.

You can solve all these problems by installing a remote lock kit Its just one solenoid in the drivers door..the hardest part is getting the wires through the rubber boot in the door jamb.

On the w123 and older models, the front passenger door lock does not function like the driver door lock. This feature started with the w201/w126/w124 series of cars (maybe the r129 too in the late 80's). Using the key on the trunk/hatch of the car won't lock/unlock the whole car on a w123, unlike the younger chassis.

However, if you use the key to lock or unlock the front passenger door alone on a w123 sedan or wagon, then it should lock or unlock with the key.

When I fixed the door lock actuators on mine, I went ahead and replaced all of them, including the master switch on the driver door and the fuel filler lid actuator. Such a PITA for that fuel filler lid actuator (wagon owners will rejoice) but well worth it.

Sounds like a great idea, until the battery goes dead. I'm thinking that swapping the locks will do the trick, since I can put both broken components on the passenger side.
