tobybul. Can you drive bearing on, or must you use a press?
How do you put photos on. On another thread I tried Photobucket, and you had to click line to get pic. Thanks. --------------------- 1984 MB 300SD Turbo |

So if I can crawl under, grab the driveshaft, and move it plus or minus a half-inch in the center support, that's bad? That might explain the thumping sound during first gear acceleration/ The sound is under the armrest.
So I should get two flex disks, center support, and center support bearing. Anything else I should consider while that is apart?

I pull the whole shaft out, and pull the halves apart on the bench. No undoing of the nut required.

How important to keep every thing indexed when removing and installing to "insure" the integrety of the shaft balancing ???
I have heard this and you all may be doing this, but I was askin for the askin. I had to pull the drive line in my '99 and I thought I was being overly attentive.(changed from my 1st verb) Gary
