Sweet ... for $250 a good deal. I wish my w115 was salvageable, they have such a dignified look. Post some pics as you restore!

Thx for your comments,

Now here's some problems
*exhaust manifold surely needs replacement
*needs new exhaust system (you can hear it coming 1 mile away)
*its smokes and nails a lot probably needs new injectors
*needs new bearing in the rear makes a crazy grinding noise in back when making a right turn
*needs new or rebuild brake calipers and rotor, PULLS to the left hard when braking
*need to replace clutch, i can feel the gear shifter pops when shifting in 2 and 3 gear
*valve adjustment
*a new driver door with manual windows (if i am lucky enough to find one)

there is lots to list!!

Also there is a little drip of diesel, its leaking not from the gaskets or anything but its leaking form a small U pipe that is attached to a banjo bolt, idk but it might be a overflow pipe or a pressure control pipe... i ll need a better camera to show it to you guys..

I'd say do the valve adjustment before making a call on the injectors, although I guess that wouldn't answer the nailing. I'm sure your exhaust system is better than my 115's, which is lying on the ground under the car. My 78 needs new exhaust, it sounds like the offspring of a muscle car and an old tractor ... I really have no idea how to approach that, though. On my 240 I just got reman calipers all around ... I'm sure you could rebuild, but I'd guess they're probably pretty gross, kinda depends on what kind of time, skill and facilities you have.

If I were really nice I'd offer you Stubby's driver door ... it's manual windows and decent other than some rust that could be patched. But for some reason, I really just can't bring myself to start taking it apart, even though it's totally junked and just getting junkier. It makes me really sad.

I could take some closeups that would tell the story. Rust that makes my 78 look like a creampuff. Water everywhere inside. Corrosion or rot on every line in the car. The engine does turn by hand, but I haven't tried to get it running. It's sat for over 20 years now ... it started and ran fine when it was parked. I have no explanation for why this happened to it, other than my dad is really weird (I love him anyway). I'd like to play with it, but it would cost so much just to get it to the point where I could try that I really can't even begin. It's also sitting outside with nowhere to move it to and is now surrounded by trash Suburbans and piles of yard-waste and overgrown grass.

I still have fantasies of trying to fix it in better times, even if financially silly. Right now I want desperately to leave this terrible job, which doesn't pay much anyway, and I'm trying to pinch my pennies a little. I wish I had somewhere to store the old beast for a couple years.

maybe you should invest in a waterproof car cover, get as much water out and cover it, and get on bricks...

That's really cool suggestion though! You must always prefer to use the car cover for you machines, but make a point that, it should be breathable and 100% water resistence, otheriwse you will be playing with your car color
