Oh No!

Another oil thread

Any diesel rated oil for the engine. I'm partial to Rotella and Delo 400 in dino 15W40, or Rotella synthetic 5W40 for when it regularly gets below freezing.

Manual transmission is Dexron III for my car and I believe yours is the same.

Pretty much any gear oil for the diff unless you have a limited slip differential. I think I have 80W90 in mine but I don't remember for sure.

Let the flames begin

Ok, my owner's manual says that I have to use "automatic transmission fluid for manual transmission". I've never seen anything with that name at any autoparts store. That means that just any ATF would do?? Mobil 1 ATF would be fine I gues??
I really don't want to put something in there that it's not suppose to be there.

I do not know if your car is a 124 Chassie. There is an online manual for the 124.
http://www.ps2cho.net/downloads/MB%20CD/W124/Main.html

If you do not have a 124 do an internet search. There are some manuals that can be downloaded that are Torrent or similar type files. I have never tried them so I cannot vouch for them.

My 82 Volvo Diesel with a manual Manual Transmission (with overdrive) also needs Dextron. I cannot remember for sure; it is a Saganaw 45 or 47 transmission.
