95 E300D engine cuts out
Hi,
The AC in my 95E300D was not working for a while. Today I decided to check if there was any freon in the system. There was no pressure at the low side...absolutely zero. None at the high side either. So i decided to add freon.....I set the blower fan at high, temp at min and turned on the AC. The AC engaged and for about 45-60 seconds it seemed to take in some freon. Then suddenly the engine died but the blower fan was still at full blast. I turned off the car and restarted again. Repeated the same process again but this time the engine died within 10 seconds after the Compressor engaged. Any ideas on where to start. Thanks smk_texas |

Does the engine run fine without the compressor engaged? If so it sounds like the compressor might be seizing.
Do you know of Indy mechanic Don Boland in the Colleyville vicinity. He is awesome to take your car to if you need the help of a qualified Mercedes mechanic. Honest and solid as a rock!! GREAT DFW area Indy. Promise!

Thanks Jimmy. Yes the car runs fine when the compressor is off. Yes, Don is a great guy as well as a mechanic. I'll be taking it to him soon in case I can't figure out what is wrong.
