500k badge..how to install

I received my 500K badge and cannot figure out how to install it. Am I missing a part or something? There is the badge, the plate with the numbers, two studs with nuts and the rubber washers.

Was there also supposed a mounting plate that goes behind the grill that the studs would pass through?

Anyone have a picture of the back of the badge as installed?

My 250k badge had a plastic mounting plate included. Maybe they forgot to add that.

Just spoke with MB Classic and they said the plastic mounts are on back order and they might have shipped the badges without them. I did not see the plastic tabs in the boxes. Maybe I can make my own. They said they'll ship them when they come back in stock.....

I guess they should look like these, are there 2 per badge?

How long did it take to arrive since you ordered at the dealer?

Make sure you check clearance of the studs. On my 99 I had to cut them to prevent them from hitting when the hood was closed.

I had one semi circle and one oblong like those. You could certainly fashion something that would do the job until the correct parts arrived.

I'm disappointed. I bought one of the older MB 500K badges and wow they were nicer. Will dig one out and photo it.
I have seen the Canadian version of the 1,000,000 km badge and it's a cast work of art...

It's amazing to me how short-sighted and penny-pinching MBUSA can be when it comes to spectacular achievement.

man that goes to show those who pay the least b!tch the most

i mean, its free right? Try getting GM to send 1 out (if you can even make it run that long).

im about to apply for my 312k mile badge, the last 1 they sent (250 k i believe) was sweet. came with a black book, signed by someone and all.

i think its pretty damn cool they do this, but i never installed it (looks kinda cheesy on the grill, and god forbid i loose some airflow into the rad !!)
