How I fix loose shifter linkage,83 300d
I have allot of play in my shifter linkage,were do I start to adjust it back?

First make sure the gromets on either end of the linkage are in good shape. My guess is you lost one or both gromets.

Yep, they don't just come out of adjustment, your shifter bushings wear and will even totally fall off......
Replacement of 2 bushings is usually the correct plan of action. Here is something very close: http://ozbenz.net/viewtopic.php?f=25&t=7658 A quick search will give you an amazing amount of threads on the subject, many with pics....
