Yeh I guess so. The stuff is really pungent!

Well its blowing cold again, although the shop was less than impressed with my low side compressor reading of 50 psig. He thinks the compressor is weak.

It seems to blow about as cold as before and no more Freon smell so Im hoping this is fixed…

You lucked out that it's not the evaporator core.
Your also lucky your TX valve is on the firewall. I have to get up under the dash to get to mine.

Actually I've changed them on both of these cars and the one under the dash is easier as far as I'm concerned. That is as long as you don't mind working while upside down. There is more room on the 123. The 124 is buried back in there in pretty tight quarters.

yeah 50 psi at idle. its blowin snowballs now on the hwy, typical warm air at idle like its always been. im tempted to trigger in the aux fan via the non-working antenna switch on dash to help it out manually.

Have you used a sniffer in the car when you are smelling the smell?

Maybe a PO shoved one of those taxi-cab style pine fresheners down one of your vents
:b

seriously, though - probably should use a sniffer to verify that there is refrigerant in the cabin when you think there is....
