i just got my nozzles in today and i'll be putting them in over the weekend. anyone else running them? any reviews or suggestions?

i'll be running them w/ a 80/20 veggie mix now then be switching over to 100%.

I have them in my Mercedes for 1 year and like them enough that I also put them in my Vlovo (as an experiment).
There is a least 2 threads on them.
Suggestion: Do the complete rebuild job on the Injectors including the setting of the Pop/Opening pressure. Just swapping the Nozzles may or may not work.

yea i searched and found some mis matched info lol.

i used to work for a fuel injection shop so i'm bringing them over there tomorrow to get done.

When reading information concerning Nozzle replacing I find I have to sometimes read carefully or even ask the OP if the whole Injector was rebuilt or the OP swapped the only the Spray Nozzle on the Injector.

From what I have read on some forums if a person swaps only the Nozzle on the Injector there is about a 40-45% of the job coming off poorly.

The other issue is sometimes Injectors get changed and they were not the cause of the original problem to begin with.

And, limited choices in Nozzles. With Bosch made in India I have read reports of spotty quality.
Bosios cost a lot per each nozzle.
Monaks in my opinion have good quality and a reasonable price. Cost less than the Bosch or Bosio Nozzles.

When I first bought my Mercedes I rebuilt the Injectors with Nozzles made by 7 Diesel.
I was told this was an Italian company. (I also used to work at a Fuel Injection shop and have my own Pop/Nozzle tester).
When I tested them on the Pop/Nozzle tester they were OK. Some were better than others; similar to my experience with Bosch Nozzles.
They were about $17 each. After less than a year of use they started getting a little noisy.
I do have to say that I had not timed the IP yet at that point and that the 7 Diesel Nozzles cleared up the bulk of my hot idle Engine shake. It may be that IP timing might have made them less noisy.

Having discovered the Monarks; I replaced them.
When I tested the Monark Nozzles the all tested exactly the same. None were dribblers or leakers.
The set I did for the Volvo had 1 nozzle the had an acceptable but slightly feathered spray pattern (it is in the Engine right now) but were otherwise also good.

good to hear. i did get them done yesterday and they all tested about 145 or close to it.

the car runs great and has quite a bit of power now. it shakes a bit at idle but i think it's just time for some motor mounts.

i'm having a issue finding a tapping sort of sound from the front of the motor. i did the valve and they are fine. i was reading another post about the vaccum pump and chain tensioner. but IDK!

You can listen with a Mechanics Stethoscope or I like to use a piece of old wooden Broom Stick an put my Ear on the end (the Stethoscope is too loud for me most of the time and I do not like getting my Face close to some parts of the car).
Harbor Freight sells inexpensive ones.

When I first got my car it was making noise up front. It turned out that the Bolt that holds the upper Timing Chan Guide near the Power Steering Pump was loose and it was ratteling. Tightened it and no more sound.

Vacuum Pumps can make noise before they fall apart; best to listen and locate the sound soon; at least rule out the Vacuum Pump.

Any thing that conducts sound will work; some use their long screwdrivers.

Besides Ebay, where are folks getting Monarks? I asked my rebuilder about them and he looked at me like I was a mutant alien.

Either Mercedes Source or BGKast on this forum.You mail your old injectors in BY Fed Ex to Kast Diesel.

I think BGKast is not currently taking orders. I just ordered them off Mercedes Source. I will have Diesel Fuel Injection Service in Portland install them on my recently rebuilt (by them w/Bosch Indian nozzles) injectors.

What did the local shop charge you for the Indian Bosch Nozzles?

I think Monark is dropping the ball sales wise.
About all I can remember being sold by the internet part sellers that is made by them are Hand Primers, Glow Plugs and a few sell the Injector Nozzles or completely New Monark Injectors.

Before I kew that Bosch and Beru were the only good Glow Plugs Available; besides the Autolites I also bought some Monark Glow Plugs.
The Autolites had problems within 3 months.

The Monarks have been in the car for more than 1 year now with no obvious problems. But, while I do use the Glow Plugs when I start I live in S CA so I have no Winter cold to deal with so they are not getting as tested as the would be somewhere else.

$208 for the rebuilt set - plus 3 return trips to be reset and tested.

I was there watching when they tested them the first time. Spray pattern was "off but not a miss" (their words) on one of them - that was enough to make me suspect.

I am tired of the uncertainties. I am hoping to get them to put the Monark nozzles on for a reasonable price, or better yet, for free.
