It's Late.. need a semi quick electrical solution

Well I did some searching and didn't run into much. It's late and I want to goto sleep but the window is down in my 85 300TD.

Everything worked fine on the drive home then I noticed the turn signals stopped working and the windows are dead. Hazards still work. No obvious blown fuses. Something simple?

This is my first w123 so I do not know it's quirks and today is the first day I have really driven it.... installed new half shafts today.

Window closing!

Spray electrical contact cleaner into the switch, if the problem is just a dirty intermitent switch contact this might get the window up easily!

Remove the door card/interior panel and power the window up directly is the sure bet! Two Philip's head screws at the latch trim, one Philip's head screw behind the door latch operating handle black plastic, three large Phillip's head screws holding the padded door pull in place, remove the door lock knob, remove the mirror knob and the chromed trim behind it. The perimeter of the door card is held in place with plastic fasteners, pop them free with a wedge type tool one by one. Then the door card is lifted upwards, don't pull outwards or you'll break off the plastic hook on the plastic map pocket.

With the card off the window motor electrical connections are a black and green wires at a two terminal connector. Apply power to the terminals to operate the window, reverse the polarity to operate in the opposite direction. Good luck!

I might just leave it down. I have the Alpine for it still in the laundry room so there is nothing to steal.

I had to hot wire the right rear door window earlier tonight. But the fronts worked great. I may pull some fuses but it's dark.

I will take pics tomorrow of my TD. I already had a stranger tell me tonight that it was a beautiful car. I have to agree that $500 wagon cleans up real nice.

Possibly.

Find fuse #12 in the fusebox..........pull it out.......and clean the contacts thoroughly. Then replace it with a brand new fuse.
