When we travel to So Cal to see my wife's parents, I set the cruise control at 100mph through most of the long stretches in the high desert. A blip of the throttle to 110mph is used for passing...Robert

P.S. I am running 44psi in the tires (sidewall spec) all the time

I lost the right front turn signal light/housing in my son's '88 124 300E a while back after I had some body work done. Got home, it was missing. Went back and retraced my route, and wonder of wonders I found the light in someone's front yard, which was amazing because there were only a handful of houses on that route over 8 miles or so. 98% of the trip is just tall grass roadside, never would have found it in there!

The clip system is fairly flimsy for these lights. I Goop glued the whole assembly in. Not coming out now, nope, not ever....

Rgds,
Chris W.

That is a knarly set of pics! Nasty clean up not to mention the windshield cost.

I had the 300D doing 105 with more left if I wanted to wait for it to spin up more! Amazingly smooth at speed! I love these old German sleds!
