If you could afford to purchase a full set of Snap-On metrics, you are in taller cotton than I.

Costco, PepBoys, Reillys all sell cheapies, Even Sears have a full set with a molded case, Good to insure all tools have been recovered and back in the set for under $ 50 or so.

Best of luck, and you are doing the best thing now getting ready for the roadside repair...that will come eventually.

I have a full set of snap on meteric wrenches and sockets and they are worth the money if you can afford it.

Snap on wrenches are awsome, my local truck driver swears Matco is made by same manufacturer as Crafstman and he also said that Mac tools wrenches strip bolts, he even does a test with a Mac wrench.

I have seen some good deals on ebay for the snap on tools lately.

Oracle12345,

I did not intend any dis', quite the contrary. Snap-On is above my budget and needs. I know several marine engine mech's who can only service certain engines with Snap-On due to the thin but strong socket wall.
They nearly cry when losing one in the drink when servicing an outboard in the water....

I find myself, being more patient I strip or round off less fasteners as I get older.
I mostly use (2) 30 year old craftman sets and a mix of Proto's. I have seen a definite drop in Sears quality over the years.

Only two that I have found that are close enough to use more or less interchangibly...1/2" and 13mm and 3/4" and 19mm.

NO use trying any of those other sizes, IMHO.

Ive gotten most of my snap on tools at half price since Ive been through 2 tech schools/manufacturing program. They are quite expensive but worth it and I do have some craftsmen tools and the difference between the 2 is quite obivous. I havent had to replace many craftsmen snap on sockets or wrenches but craftsmen I have had.

Not sure where the "dis" stuff is coming from...
