It doesn't look like a Lemfoerder LCA bushing needs to be flared

I took the kit out of the box today and compared my bushing to pics I saw in a good write up by forum member Army How I ended up fitting the bushings to my W123 300D LCA

The aluminum tube in Army's pics looks much thinner than mine, and also appear to stick out beyond the outer cap where it gets tapered.

The Lemfoerder tube is thicker and has no chance of protruding beyond the cap. It looks as if it fits into an inner recess in the cap and the outside of the cap is tapered. I hope that my pics explain what I see. Thanks

Although I've never seen them I'm guessing you've got the W126 LCA bushings there. From what I've read here it makes no difference if you fit the W126 ones - the first generation W126 suspension shared lots of parts with the W123 anyway - they are apparently slightly more expensive to buy but then you don't have to worry about flaring the inner tube to fit.

X2 on the previous thread.
The 126 Bushings have been said to be heavier duty because they are claimed to be for 15 inch Wheels.

Good link Diesel911

Can you guys say whether the caps have an interference fit on the central rod part?
