190d and 240d injectors - the same?
are the 115 bar injectors from a 240d going to fit into a 190d 2.2? the only possible difference i can think of is the threading, or overall length.

I would imagine the tips are different as a minimum. They might actually screw in and work but probably carry different part numbers etc.

you should try using the wrong parts and give us a full report. i would like to see diagrams and charts supporting your findings.

Searching the Buy Parts > Fastlane link at the top of this page gave me the same part numbers for a 1983 240D and a 1984 190D (for both the complete injector as well as just the injector nozzle).
So, the replacement parts appear to be compatible (for those specific model years), if that helps... I've never tried this swap myself.

the 603 / 602 injectors thread into the prechamber, the 617 / 616 thread into the retaining collar.
much different thread pitches and depths. On the other hand, if you wanted to thread the 602 injectors into the prechamber of a 616, I couldn't tell you if the the body is threaded to the same depth and it would work. However the threads on each prechamber are the same. |

300d na are the same as 240d but 300d turbo injectors have a different part number and are different enough I would not use them.

I am not advising you to do this. I believe it is probably true though. The best thing is to use the numbers on the injector as your guide and use what the factory specifies.

and as Mr. Walgamuth mentioned in his useless post.
The nozzles are different (265) and may cause a slight increase in fuel consumption as they are intended to flow more fuel. but it would be mostly negligible and you could put the nozzles from the 240d into them if desired. |
