300,000

I have a 1992 300D also with 225,000 mikes. Just want to know what you have had to do to it, tell me everything you have had to fix or replace. Thanks. (Timing chain, injectors)

My 91 300D has 292,000 and within the last 5,000 miles I have replaced the timing chain and rails, replaced the head gasket, installed Monark nozzles, replaced the lift pump and rebuilt the transmission. Ready for another 200k+.

The timing chain stretch was still within specs (about 4 degrees i think) , but I had it done anyway out of an abundance of caution.

Why did you replace the lift pump? Was it going bad? How did you know?

I replaced the lift pump because diesel fuel was getting into the engine oil. Lift pump was suspected by the forum and it fixed the problem.

How did you know fuel was getting into oil? Sorry for all the questions.
