350SD has a 3.5 liter version of the aluminum head 6-cyl OM603 first seen in the US in the 86-87 300SDL. That engine is infamously known as the rodbender (see my avatar). Fabulous performance and economy when running right but do your research before opening your wallet. Otherwise the same body as the 81-85 300SD with feature improvements and enhancements MB made as the W126 line as it progressed.
IIRC the 350SD was only sold in the US in 1991. The LWB 350SDL was sold in 1990 and 1991. Sixto 87 300D |

That car has been for sale for a long time. They are attractive cars with lots of power and good fuel economy. It is priced reasonably. So you have to wonder why it hasn't sold. There is a reason. Go look at it and find out why.
If the original engine failed and was replace by the factory, then no worries.

The armrest is FILTHY, and the seats and dash are covered, I'd start there.

LoL the owner can't even maintain his camera
![]() Well, it's an interesting ad. IMO judging by the 2 pics available it looks good enough to check out. As mentioned before, you need to find out if the engine has ever been replaced by MB. If it hasn't, high oil consumption means the engine may be on its last legs. Some people drive them till they drop, then replace the worn engine with the more reliable 3L version. Having sold a few cars in Southern Arizona, I can think of a reason why it might be taking a while to sell. IT'S BLACK! Definitely worth a look, but don't make any commitments without reporting your findings. Better yet, if there's a forum member with more experience ask them to look it over for you or with you. If you're going to be driving back and forth between PHX and Verde Valley often, all those steep grades on I-17 should help any engine problems show up quickly. In summer heat ![]()
