Sociology, huh? I hope that's another word for retirement.... Anyway, I would take it to your indy mechanic. Make sure he knows about the plug in the torque converter. Also, I think there are some subtle differences on the filters on the 4-bolt tranny (long neck vs short neck), but I am not qualified to know which we should have ( I think I may have screwed it up on mine) so do some research and report back.

Rick

Even if you aren't running WVO right now, glow plugs will accumulate carbon crud on the tips much more quickly when running WVO (even if it is in the past). You should buy/make a reamer and ream them out. I bet the tips of the plugs have a fair amount of carbon on them, so they still may have decent resistance but only the back sides of the GP are glowing like they should.

Good to know.
Thanks!

As for sociology, it's just what I'm interested in.
I'm not looking for a new career, just the piece of paper. . .

I think reaming them out this time was the key.
#5 wasn't glowing but the rest did. I did get a surprising
amount of gunk out when I reamed.

That's what I was hoping. If you like it, do it. If I had the time, I would like to go back to school, too, but there's nothing I could take at this stage of my life that would make monetary sense to learn in college.

Sociology? I'm suffering through the introductory course as a fifth year senior right now. It all seems like common sense BS to me, as I have yet to crack the book, study for one test or quiz, and still have a B. It wouldn't be so bad if attendance wasn't mandatory, but I usually click around the computer most of the time.

I have no room to talk though. I switched from business to political science out of boredom. What I didn't realize is all the extra BS requirements a LAS degree entails. If I had known, I may have struggled my way through the business program.

It will be nice to FINALLY have that piece of paper in the Spring.

Throw away your textbook and start reading Adam Ferguson, Karl Marx, Emile Durkheim, Max Weber, Talcott Parsons, Thorstein Veblen, Karl Mannheim, et al. Then you'll learn something.

I'm fluent in Marx, Durkheim, Weber and Mead.

I'm having a great time so far, got a C in Algebra and As in my other classes. Oh wait, a B in Philosophy.

Don't forget to tell him TQ drain also

"So, can I just take it to the guy I normally would and have him drop the pan, dump, change filter and refill?"

YES , as long as you include the Torque Converter.

Battery is great. New in October last year, not driven much since spring.

Update:
All the glows worked except number 5. Replaced it with the new Bosch I had saved. Reamed the holes best I could, my hands have never been this black. Started right up but it could be because I had it started a couple hours ago. Only for a couple minutes but it would still be enough to make it warm enough to start easy. Will have to try again before bed.
Here is where I did the work.

Also, #9 fuse is the blower motor on mine. Replace and. . .IT WORKED!

So, I have no heat. It's the amplifier. It was going in and out for a while and then just quit. Can I bypass the servo and do the DEF only heat or does the amp need to be working for that to happen?

I missed ya'll. . .
