None on mine, but it also never had pinstripes. When I bought it new at Stephenson Mercedes in Dallas, none of the 123's had pinstripes. They would add them for no charge if you wanted them. I opted out. I'd bet that it was the pinstripers signature.
To stir the pot a bit, my window sticker (yes, I still have it) reads 300D-T. So does my metal owners plate, myTexas title and my insurance card |

LNGfish, I use the next to smallest pixel setting, but I have a 7.1 unit, so try larger and larger if you like till you get a "image too large" response when you try to upload, but take dial up into consideration. Also, if your camera has a "macro" setting, use that for close ups. |
TooMany,
I used the Macro or close up setting. I'll bump it up to to next setting on pixels. Interesting 2 color pinstripe. Mine is 2 stripes but same color as yours, same location too across gas tank lid. This guy Pierre must of done dealers cars in NY from pervious post. |

mine says "BUBBA".....i wonder where it was made?

My 300d has a small footprint on the end of the declk lid, suspect the artist left his mark after he pinstriped..?
|
Pierre got around, and he has lots of friends
I had hand painted pin-stripes added to my 1975 280. The artist left a discreet signature on the rear fender, where it was hidden from view unless the trunk was open. I can't recall the name for sure, but it was a Spanish name. Hand painted Pin-stripes and whitewall tires were very popular additions to Mercedes in the late 70's early 80's. I did both. :)
I suppose it would seem a bit odd to see a name on your car with no explanation. |

Charles explained where his says 300D-T but I don't believe anybody has actually seen a emblem on a trunk that was that way.:D Besides . . .It is not every day we get to see Michelangelo's signature!:P |
