solenoid = transducer

1998 E300D Turbo Problem.

do a search using the code numbers. Have you tried swapping the transducers? Have you driven more than 50miles 9to allow the ECU to reset the cel) after the MAF was replaced?

These questions were answered in your last thread; with pictures in the last post post even. '99 e300 TD fault codes p0100 and p 0243

If you want the test procedures from WIS for the transducer and ECU then PM me your email address I I'll send it to you.

Who ever told you that transducers are not available and you need a new turbo, if they are a "mechanic" .... run away, fast and do not go back. Then check all of your vacuum hoses running to and from the wastegate transducer (wastegate solenoid, under the air to turbo hose) and the electrical connection.

Have the codes cleared at a autozone.

Then switch the wastegate transducer (above picture) with the
EGR transducer (located on the drivers side of the fender skirt,near the windshield washer tank)They just pull up and off of their mount. Be sure to double check the hoses and electrical connectors. Look for deterioration, holes etc...

Drive the car again. If the transducer for the wastegate is defective, the swap should produce a P0400 CEL code instead of a p0243. It's the quick down and dirty transducer test.

The electrical connectors have a push-in release at the base of the connector.

I had a similar problem with my 98. Kept throwing MAF codes even after being replaced twice. EGR codes a couple of times and the wastegate code at least once. Ran very poorly, no power. Seemed to run worse after a hot start. Turned out my engine control computer was bad and needed reprogramming. Had to take it to someone who could read the codes my code reader could not. This may be your problem it may not, but its worth a look.
