Engine wont crank-bad ignition switch module?
My 2004 E220 cdi suddenly wouldn't crank. Tried both keys but no joy, battery is good, doors lock /unlock etc fine. The electronic key when inserted to the ignition module is recognised ok and the dashboard electronics all come on fine but when the key is turned to the crank position nothing happens....not even a click from the starter.
I did manage to get it started by towing it . Doesn't seem to be any power getting to the starter motor...checked all the fuses etc and they are good. Bad ignition module maybe and is this a known problem? Any advice on a possible fix.....I'm desparate!! |

Have you checked batt voltage with a multimeter to confirm its charge? A few accessories turning on says nothing about batt condition.
Have you checked fuses under the rear seat? The drivers side kick panel? The computer box too?
