Have you tried the stop level on the injection pump? (drivers side of the engine - it says stop on it)

If that doesn't work, you can supposedly get a good enough seal with a heavy duty trash bag on the air cleaner. Starve it for air.

Beyond that, I would just start cutting fuel lines (or just rip the connection off at the primary filter) and hope it's not run-on.

Good luck!

On the injection pump (the thing with all of the small diameter metal lines - 4 of them). Right side of the engine as you look at it from the front of the vehicle. It should be on the right side of the injection pump.

My uncle told me that rules on the Navy ship for a diesel engine run-on situation were as follows:

1) Discharge every CO2 fire extinguisher available into the supercharger.

2) If that doesn't work, Throw the empty fire extinguishers into the superchargers.

3) If that doesn't work. Throw everything that is not bolted down into the superchargers.

4) If that doesn't work. get out.

Note that using a normal household dry chemical fire extinguisher is not a good thing to use to stop the engine. It will stop it... but probably from loss of compression
