Heads Will Roll....

..the worst part is I didn't realize until I got home.

I think I found some fingerprints in the chrome, though.

What is the fascination with pulling them off...Really I don't see it, you can get them from the junk yard...parts places... if someone stole mine I'd be seriously pissed....

Right - it's not a good idea for sure - the offender could sue you ..... and WIN!

My star is missing too - got vandalized before I got my car... just don't understand what makes some people so fascinated with destroying things - stupid people.

How about a capacitor that will tase them?

Or a star with a switch in it that activates a LOUD horn right inside the grill when they pull on it. They'd wet their pants!

Small electrical charge?

You can absolutely set up the star to shock them and no court would rule against you. As long as it was not lethal.
Isolate it and run a current of about 10 volts. Probably difficult to do right, but WOW, what a deterrent.

Rig up something to where every time they pull it they get shot with water... a small switch and a reservoir and pump'll do the trick. Key to it....Aim low, nobody'll want to walk around lookin like they p***** themselves

Had this happen to me in September.

Go ahead and replace it. It's really really easy. Just get some plyers and pull the locking mechanism out and turn left. Reinstall is the reverse.

I have a spare hood star as well that I have hanging up on my wall. If I lose my current one I'm going to buy a removable star from Adistco.

My philosophy is... if a person gets hurt or killed committing a crime it ought to just be too dang bad.

But, if you sharpened the star, it would be premeditated on your part. They'd get you for that. If the law din get ya, the thief would prolly break an expensive window or dent a hard to fix body part.

I'd say, get the removable star. Take away the temptation.

However, if they hurt themselves on your star, you could just clean up the blood, and swap the star for a normal one and hide the "lethal" one. Denying everything. They would have 0 proof. Additionally, all you'd have to say is "why the heck were you pulling on my hood star in the first place" Putting them in the wrong.

Just rig it so the whole car explodes or blows up... upon a yank of the Star.
