Cruise Control 85 300TD
My cruise control failed today. It had been working fine. I can do without it, however I'm really weird. I just cannot have things that
don't work. I really only use it about 3x per year. Anyway, it still sort of works. I cannot accel or decel with the stalk, but if I "resume" with the stalk it will actuate back to where it was set at some point. Do you suppose it's the stalk switches or the CC amp? I searched and read about the amp resolder. I can certainly do that. Would that be the first place to start diagnosing? I really don't want to do the Audiovox fix. I'm very skilled at soldering electronic circuits so I guess I'll just pull it and try in the morning. If that doesn't work what would be the logical next step?

Before you do anything drastic, check the electrical connections under the dash and on the actuator (on the engine). One loose pin connection can cause the whole system to cut out.
