lost door key '79 300sd w116
lost the only copy of the "sidewinder?" key it had the round top and the cut went up the middle of the key. anyone know where i can get another copy of the key? if i cant get a copy how will i get into the trunk to change the locks?

Take VIN to the dealer. They should be able to get you a key.

?? I thought the round key would NOT open the trunk??

you need the title and pic id to get key from dealer.id must match name on title.it takes a few days.

If you want the round key replaced you should make it clear to the parts person - I think the assumption is that you would want a master key rather than the valet key.
I was never asked which of those I wanted - just got the master for 2 different cars. That's what I wanted though, so no problem.....
