Anyone have any info that would indicate the most often ordered color combo on the W126 platform cars ? Just curious as to what the dealers and general public ordered during the 80's .
Was told that Mercedes built their cars based on an order basis; in other words they did not just build a car and then ship it to dealer to put on lot. Is this factual ?

Most of the W126s I see are muted colors... Black, Blue / Black, Silver, Anthracite, and a couple off white ones. I don't think many buyers in the US went for the "fun" colors.
