Will a W115 steering wheel fit a W123?

I have always loved the look of those old steering wheels like the ones that came on the W115 like this

I've seen W115's with the W123 style steering wheel, so I guess they made the switch sometime during the W115 production years, so maybe they are interchangeable? Anyone know? Or can anybody look at two next to each other?

Nope, the spline sizes are different. The later style steering wheel that is on the W115's is also a smaller spline size.
