It's a shame that MB wasn't still suplying the "dogleg" tool in the tool-kit by the time the 123's were being manufactured. This thing is like a crescent wrench handle about 8 - 10" long and bent laterally with a 14mm hex stub on each end. Believe it came in the Ponton tool kit and has never failed to open a diff or manual tranny case for me. Usually a little hammer action is required, but the 'jack it up idea' should work as well.

That was an awesome tool. One of those showed up for sale on here a year ago or so. There was a bidding war. I lost....
