It can. Like the sign on the wall at J.R. Crickett's in Atlanta says, "Yes, we can do that, and it costs..."

What looks like the subframe mounts appear to have rot on them. Maybe a bad angle? Hard to tell. Not sure why there aren't more undercarriage pictures with the overabundance of interior pics.

Yours doesn't look like that for the same reason none of ours do - because they are driven every day instead of being parked in a garage for 28 years. Beautiful car and really not an unreasonable price when you consider what a 3 or 4 year old comparably sized Mercedes with the same mileage would cost you...

Soylent green

is people!!

Green antifreeze, however, is bad for the plastic tanks/necks on the radiators.

A sign that the car has been worked on by someone who didn't really know what they were doing. Sorta'.

If the car were truly in the same condition as when it rolled off the line, the coolant would be orange.

FWIW the 116 cars were the last to be built "by hand".

Ahh that's good to know! I kept hearing about this evil green anti freeze that I ran out to my car and checked the coolant and sure enough it was this offset whitish milky yellow.

My dad's '82 SD looks like that, the interior is not in as good of shape....321k of wear on it. But the exterior and undercarriage are mint. 0 rust anywhere....its amazingly nice to work on! It is sleeping in the garage for the winter....so it will never rust.

If I'm not mistaken, MB did not roll these off the line with Zerex or the like. It's smart owners over time that started putting it in. That and coolant chemistry changed. So it may have rolled off the line with green colored antifreeze. I may be totally off base here, though. Be good to see an original underhood brochure pic.

Great looking car, but the shiny rocker panels give me a little pause. If I'm going to lay down serious bucks, I don't want to see evidence of any repaint, especially on the undercarriage. It's from FL, though, so probably fine. They might have just gone a little hogwild with their buffer and wax.
