AC servo alternative?

Hello all
I have a 1980 300sd with a leaking AC servo. I REFUSE to replace it again. Does anyone have a parts list and directions for replacement using a heater valve controlled by vacuum lines? As it is my AC does not work, and there too I REFUSE to buy another compressor and waste more refrigerant. If anyone has done this, then please advise. It would be nice to have heat again, even here in California.

There are a couple of threads on here about how to bypass the servo. There is also a computerized alternative to the servo now available. Aluminum bodied servos are also available.

If you want AC, another compressor and more refrigerant is kind of going to be a necessity.

You might simply want to check into having the work done better, be it you or a mechanic. It isn't rocket science to fix it correctly......

I'm about to do a complete rehab of my AC, and replaced the servo a year ago to no avail. I'm hoping that this will fix it, otherwise I will go digital.

I need AC down here.

My experience with A/C compressors leads me to NEVER install a used, or a rebuilt one. Too much risk. Always use NEW Compressors; the cost is not that much greater than rebuilt.

Many have reported positive results with the replacement unit from Unwired Tools.

At one time this unit was available for purchase through this site. May still be.
